Arizona Poppy Field

When we were at our Tucson site , we came across this filed of Arizona Poppies field not far from our site.  

These beautiful Arizona Poppies are growing out here in this hot desert, with no water.  There official name is Arizona Caltrop. 

The flower can be orange to yellow.  Petals about 1".  They have 5 petal.  They are found on arid hills, slopes, sandy areas and roadsides.  Also found around the Creosote Bushes.  They are found in  Arizona and New Mexico.
