We arrived at Bates Well Ranch, also known by several other names. It was one of some 15 ranches and line camps the Gray family had in the Sonoran Desert, north of Mexico. The main ranch house was moved from Growler to Bates Well 1942.
The original well was dug by W.B. Bates in 1870.
The property was ran by Gray's son, Henry from 1935 . Henry lived there until 1976 when he died.
Different views of the property at Bates Wells.
Dispersed camping on BLM land along Darby Wells road on the way to Bates Well, south of Ajo, AZ. Roughly 10-12 miles north of Organ Pipe Cactus Natinal Monument and 8 miles south of Ajo, Desert boondocking.

Enjoy the info. Hope it is all correct. Kitfoxgal
