In 1955 a teacher, Effie Yeaw started leading natural walks in Carmichael, along the American River. She has done so much for the Nature Center , they named Center after her in 1960. It is called the EffieYeaw Nature Center.
The land was purchased in 1960 along the American River known as the Ancil Hoffman Park. There was many purchases over the years that includ the Effie Yeaw Nature Area.
This is one of the Indian's huts that are seen in the park.
There was many things of nature to take photos , here are just a few.
The ARNHA is a not-profit, volinteer organization, that has operated the Effie Yeaw Nature Center since July of 2010.
County Park fees are: $5 a car. $8 on Holiday weekends.
They are open Tuesday -Sunday 9 a.m. to 5.

They have live animals in the classroom programs.
Then there is the American River that runs through the park.
