Good afternoon to all my readers.
Hope you all had a "Happy 4th". It was real quiet her, but enjoyable.
What a fantastic "trail-ride" DesertDale had on the 3rd, on the "Pony Express Trail". It was some 40 miles of adventure.
The Pony Express used by young men on fast horses to carry the mail from Missouri to California in the in just ten days. The relay system became the nation's most direct and practical means of east-west communications before the telegraph came to be.
You look real close, you can still see some of the ordinal trail, the men road on. Of course that is DesertDale's KTM, not what the men road back then.
They carried the mail some 1800 miles of wilderness. From Missouri to California, on horses back. They had to change about every 12 to 15 miles. Then on the go again.
Then DesertDale took me on a run through, one of the town that the raiders took, in the pick-up. Tell you more about it in next posting.
What a beautiful morning we have. Once again we are here at, Spencer's Hot Springs, about 20 miles from the place they call Kingston.
Enjoy life. Kitfoxgal
