Galleta Meadows Sculptures At Anza-Borrego

DesertDale took me on a surprise ride around the "Anza-Borrego Desert State Park".  It turned out to be  surprise ride and I mean it was one fantastic ride.

The following sculptures are a gift of Dennis Avery.  They are on his private land, Galleta Meadows Estate, which is open to the public.  They were started in April of 2008.  They are made of metal by Richard Breceda of  Temecula, Ca.  He made them welding  reinforcement bars, wire and metal, then adding life-like texture  by pounding the materials with hammers.  Here are just a few of the "Sculptures" .

Mr. Avery and Breceda has expanded the collection in 2010 to include noted human, including Spanish explorer Juan Batista de Anza , who went through the desert with a missionary expedition.

More to come on another posting.
Have a fantastic day as I have with DesertDale.
