Picacho Adventure

DesertDale took Kitfoxgal on a ride through the Picacho State Recreation Area, just a few miles from our site at Sidewinder.  We drove over 40 miles on dirt roads, much of it in 4 wheel drive.

DesertDale is paying enter fees of $4.00 for us young folks.

Picacho lies along the Colorado River, on the California side.  There are sites for campers, hikers, boating,  plus there is many of sites for the fisherman.

Of course the views are something else, they are marvelous.
These photo are just a few of the sites.

The Quechan  and other native people lived along  this part of the Colorado River.  They crossed the river on logs, rafts, and in pottery vessels.  They also hunted and planted corn, beans, squashes and used wild plants as their food.

There was a fire in the area about 8 or 9 years ago that destroy much  of the beauty but it is slowly growing back.  The donkeys  are still around, as you can see.

There is much more but I have posted enough as it is. Kitfoxgal
