Bate's Well Birding Expedition

DesertDale and Kitfoxgal are off on a birding expedition to Bate's Well  off of Darby Wells Rd ., near Ajo.
Bates Well Ranch is situated along the northern edge of Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument.

You will have the  pleasure of seeing many of the "Giant Saguaro" Cactus.  It is Arizona state flower.

This was the home of the Gray family until 1976  with  Henry Gray death.   Today the Bates Well ranch is a National Register of Historic Place.

The Say's Phoebe was also seen at Bate's Well.   I wish we could record the sound.  It is soft, descending peeer  It is so pleasant to lesson too.  They perch on fences or hover over barren fields.  They make their nest around barns or ranches houses.

DesertDale took these photos.

DesertDale setting  there enjoying  the sandwich we bought at Olsen's Market in Ajo.
Enjoy your life long partner, especially if he or she is as sweet as DesertDale.
